Throughout the year, our Discord mods have been gathering feedback and suggestions from the community as you’ve played System Shock remake on PC and consoles.
With a renewed opportunity to continue development, we’re excited to be able to address many of these requests and further polish the experience. In our latest System Shock remake release for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, players can look forward to the following:
Community Feedback Changes/Additions:
- Gyro controls for aiming on supported input devices (a major new addition for Switch and Switch 2).
- Level design suggestions in both cyberspace and realspace, addressing balancing, gameplay, and issues with interacting with the world.
- Rebalancing of some enemy health and stats.
- Additional sound effects for UI interactions and feedback.
- Status Tab in the MFD getting additional information added to it.
- Station monitors updating to properly reflect the world state.
- Improvements to the Settings screen and additional settings added, such as Toggling Sprint, and the ability to increase the cursor speed in the MFD when playing with gamepads.
- Fixing the Boot Up and Death BIOS screens on resolutions outside of 1080p.
- Correction of typos and discrepancies in audio logs, emails, and subtitles.
- A complete overhaul of Kickstarter ID tags, fixing errors, missing backers, and better placement.
Quality of Life Improvements:
- Confirmation windows when deleting save files and resetting options to default.
- Adjustments to the response curve for gamepad analog sticks to make looking around feel more natural and nuanced.
- Mission 3 Timer running out during the credits (which is hilarious, but definitely shouldn’t happen).
- Adding Credits to the Title Screen Menu.
- Adding an indicator to the Map screen in MFD when the player has found Skully.
- Improvements to dynamic music systems, especially related to exploration tracks.
- Refinements to the Media Tab in MFD.
- General miscellaneous UX improvements.
- Additional balance changes.
These items were brought to our attention by the community and have been flagged for future patches.
We want to thank everyone for your patience as we finalize the Day One patch for System Shock remake on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. We’ve hit a delay in the final approval stages, but we’re working to get it out as quickly as possible.
We’re also continuing to actively monitor community feedback, and encourage players to report issues directly to our developers and moderating team over in our dedicated Discord channel.
